With East Africa's equatorial climate, you’ll enjoy temperate weather conditions no matter when you choose to travel. It’s important to note that mornings and evenings can be cooler, so don’t forget to pack a cozy jacket.

What to wear

Clothing made from natural fabrics such as cotton and linen in neutral colors (avoid whites, blacks, dark blues, bold colors and camouflage)

What is my luggage allowance?

On light aircraft and helicopter flights, luggage is usually limited to one soft bag weighing a maximum of 15kg (33 lbs) per person, including hand luggage.

What currency is used in Tanzania?

The main currency in Tanzania is Tanzanian Shillings; however, United States Dollars (USD) are widely accepted.

Do I need a visa?

A travel visa is required for all guests traveling to Tanzania. We recommend pre-applying for your Tanzanian visa online – it’s quick and easy and takes about 3 to 10 working days to be approved. There is also an option to purchase your visa upon arrival at the airport.

Is Wi-Fi available at the camps and lodges?

Wi-Fi is available in all tented rooms and main areas in our tented camps, as well as our lodges.

What is included in my stay?

Every booking with Legendary Expeditions includes a private guide and vehicle, as well as gourmet dining, select alcoholic and non-alcoholic beverages and activities such as walking safaris and night game drives.

Are laundry services available?

Yes, laundry facilities are available at all our lodges and camps.

What health precautions should I take?

Protection against malaria is recommended, as Tanzania is a low-risk Malaria area. Please seek advice from your doctor before traveling to obtain the required medication. Yellow Fever vaccines are not required in Tanzania; however, if you’ve recently visited a Yellow Fever country or traveled via a Yellow Fever country into Tanzania, you’ll need to show a Yellow Fever certificate upon arrival in Tanzania.

Can I bring my drone?

Drones are prohibited unless a special permit is obtained.

Are single-plastics allowed?

Single-use plastics are not allowed in Tanzania (recyclable Ziplock bags are permitted so long as they are not disposed of in Tanzania).
